How we calculate $2.17
In fiscal year 2025 (July 2024–June 2025), CCATE received $575,454 in cash gifts and grants. In the same year, 100 community members and university volunteers taught 18,560 hours at CCATE. Our independent accountants valued that teaching at $641,726 and recorded it in our reviewed financial statements, because it meets the accounting standard for donated professional services.
Add our own earned income ($30,222, mostly rent from our building) and CCATE ran on $1,247,402 in total resources — $2.17 for every $1 of cash support.
Two honest notes. First, the $1 includes foundation grants, not only individual gifts; individual donors gave $52,729 of it, and that 9% is what keeps us answerable to Norristown first. Second, this is a yearly average, not a promise that each new dollar produces $1.17 more — but it is how CCATE has worked every year since 2011, and we update this figure each December when our financial statements are reviewed.
