After School Program
CCATE’s after school program runs Monday through Thursday, from 4-7pm, from students in grades 2-12. Our Fridays are dedicated to high school programs. Younger children in grades 2 and below are welcome to participate in our programs with the presence of a parent.
During this program, students complete their homework with a team of local college students from Ursinus College, Widener University, the University of Pennsylvania, Cabrini University, Villanova University, St. Joe’s, and Bryn Mawr College. They also have time to enjoy learning games and activities. The heart of CCATE’s afterschool program are the weekly classes in the arts, sciences, music, technology, physical fitness, cooking, literacy, gardening, cooking and more. These classes are taught by local volunteers, and our class offerings change yearly based on our volunteers and the interests of the students.
At CCATE we look at the holistic development of the child and consider not only their school performance, but the development of students’ emotional, social, and physical health. To measure students’ progress, we use parent, student, and teacher surveys, student report cards, and focus group interviews.
