Dr. Soriano received her B.A. in Anthropology at Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1999. Later on, in 2005, she receive her M.A. in History at New York University and continued her studies at NYU, earning her Ph. D. in History in 2011.

As a professor, Dr. Soriano specializes in colonial and modern Latin America, slavery and resistance movements, and cultural and social history. Additionally, she has conducted research focusing on Province of Venezuela and Caribbean Region, cultural and social history, and 18th century popular rebellions and social movements.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
